This was one of the hardest and challenging period that I experienced while doing this course since the whole procedure of attaining a placement was confusing to me.

 

The first confusion was which companies are really suitable for me to do my internship, I thought that since am a banking and finance student then it was cumpulsory to do internship in a bank. Apart from that I was thinking about the language barrier incase I was to go and work in a local bank in Malaysia.

 

Around 12th September 2014 I did some application  to attain internship placement in Malaysia. I remember applying to Standard Chartered Malaysia, GE Malaysia and Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd Malaysia. This application was done by filing a Google Form which the link was provided to all students in the student portals. In additional to that on the same day I sent my Cover letter and Resume to Taylor's Career Service Service in order for them to send them to the company that I had applied.

 

Unfortunately I could not get accepted in any of the company that I had applied, which made me so sad and worried. I was worried because time was running out and I was required to submit the offer letter from the company that I was going to do internship. I was sad because the fact that I missed an internship placement made me feel that am not qualified enough to get an internship in Malaysia.

 

At the end I decide to try apply back home in my home country (Tanzania) with the help of one of my junior student who is a also a Tanzanian, I only applied to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Tanzania. I had applied to the finance department since this was the only department that   I felt would somehow relate to my course and I could easily learn something that relates to finance.
